Born and raised in Whitby, Aaron discovered music through his love of The Beatles. This led to a career in radio, writing for various publications, and ultimately a radio show about The Beatles (Beatles Universe), which ran for over four years. When not immersed in music, Aaron enjoys spending time with the loves of his life -- his wife Andrea, and daughters Emily and Linda (all of whom have an intense love of music too).

They did not meet until they were adults, but became friends despite a bitter cross-town rivalry between their respective high schools. Their mutual love of music and radio brought them together all those years ago, and it was responsible for their re-acquaintance in recent years, writing for Spill Magazine.

Andre Skinner

André has been writing for The Spill Magazine for over 20 years, dating back to the print days. As a full time video producer for Long & McQuade, André is often seen hosting and demoing new gear on L&M’s YouTube channel. His passion for music goes far beyond writing reviews for new music and live concerts, he is also an active musician and producer on the Canadian music scene. Having toured North America and Europe with various acts, he is no stranger to dedication and work ethic new bands must endure to make the grade in today's market; Andre always delivers perspective writing that is authentic and to the point. Mr. Skinner typically covers indie rock, grass roots, electronica and is our resident hard rock and heavy metal specialist. He is extremely selective on what bands he covers for articles and you can rest assured they are ALWAYS band to watch with something left of centre to offer.

Native Quebecer and freelance writer Andrea Paré first began using music as a drug in her teen years to escape the drab experience of growing up in the suburbs. Now as a full grown adult and living in Toronto, she has a healthier addiction to discovering new musical artists and watching as much live and local music in her adopted city as she can.

After majoring in business & entrepreneurship at UCSB and traveling the world, Andrew moved to Los Angeles to pursue music and not give up his love for surfing, hiking and yoga. He is also in a couple really cool, up and coming, indie-rock bands in LA - Mothlight & Lone Kodiak.

Based in Montreal but raised across Western Europe, Andrew feels at home both everywhere and nowhere. Having picked up the piano at age four, he has since gone on to add clarinet, saxophone and guitar to his musical arsenal. As well as crafting music, Andrew spends a lot of time listening both at home and in live contexts. Rather than focusing on a particular style or calibre of artist, he is keen to explore music of any shape or size. Outside music, Andrew's passions lie in philosophical writing, visual art and sharing positivity with the world around him.

Andrew is an aspiring photographer hailing from Toronto, who is currently in his final year at OCAD University. Ever since he took pictures with his old iPhone at an Imagine Dragons concert in 2018, it began his goals and dreams to pursue a career to photograph live music, and to work in the music industry. He loves concert photography because it combines his passion for photographing memories and listening to music. His favourite genres of music are pop, electronic, and alternative rock.

Bill Kopp

With a background in marketing and advertising, Bill Kopp got his professional start writing for Trouser Press. He rose through the ranks at Skope Magazine, eventually becoming Editor-in-chief. When that magazine ceased publication, readers and associates encouraged Bill to start a blog. Musoscribe launched in 2009, and has published new content every business day since then. The interviews, essays, and reviews on Musoscribe reflect Bill's keen interest in American musical forms, most notably rock, jazz, and soul. His work features a special emphasis on reissues and vinyl. Bill's work also appears in many other outlets both online and in print. He also researches and authors liner notes for album reissues, and co-produced a reissue of jazz legend Julian "Cannonball" Adderley's final album.

Bobby Singh

Bobby Singh is most comfortable and content with camera in hand, shooting artists big and small, on stage and off. A freelance photographer based in Toronto, Bobby's heart remains in New York City. Bobby's rise to fame was not one without heartbreak and hurdles. From the time he started working the clubs on Queen Street West battling low light and dodging spilled drinks, elbowing his way to the front of stage, he knew one day he would be accepted into the prestigious Pit, bestowed with the almighty Lanyard. It has been a long, strange trip. Some of his most prized accomplishments include being yelled at by Patti Smith, having his lens kicked off the stage by that guy in Imagine Dragons, being covered in various liquids by Leah Fay of July Talk, and most notably, patting Prince on the shoulder after a show. Currently Bobby still makes an effort to remain humble, occasionally gracing those old clubs with his prowess behind the lens. Please do not disturb him.

Br. lives in southern Ontario, grew up on The Beatles and The Journeymen, spent his adolescence immersed in grunge, and his adulthood in British alternative. His greatest joy is seeing his son dance and grow into his own appreciation of the indescribable joy of music...

Brandon Maahs is a Dallas-based musician and writer. He scores music for film and television, and is also the guitarist for the band Color Failure. Brandon loves to interview artists, discuss the technical aspects of the creative process, and systemize music in the larger oeuvre. He has a cat named Sniblet.

Grzegorz Kieszkowski originally hails from Bydgoszcz, Poland. After his father was released from prison in 1984, for his involvement with the Solidarity movement, Greg and his family escaped to Canada in 1985. He makes Cobourg his home, along with his wife and two small children. Greg is a graduate of York University, with a double major in English and Philosophy. Ross Andersen is a second-year Print-Journalism student attending Sheridan College. He has been writing for the Sheridan Sun for more than a year, and is passionate about what he writes. In addition, Ross is versatile although he specializes in classic rock and music theory.

As a child growing up in the suburbs, Ryan found music as a way to soothe his boredom. After first hearing AC/DC at the age of 10, he was hooked on music. Tracing its roots to the ‘50s, he became obsessed with Elvis, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. Somehow that led to grunge, then psych-rock, then jazz, etc. The list goes on and on and his collection of vinyl records continues to grow.

Sabrina Biot

Music and writing have always been a big part of Sabrina's life. She would "borrow" her dad's rock and metal CDs from his collection and listen to them while going through the art books. Although she doesn't write angsty poetry anymore, she does have a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism which she uses to pursue a creative career path. Samantha “Sam” Stevens is half a music journalist, and half an academic scholar. With a graduate diploma and MA in Journalism, Sam has covered musicians all over the world and her work has appeared in Guitar Girl magazine, North Bay Nugget newspaper, The Link newspaper, and a few others. She even founded and managed her own music blog The Littlest Voice for 5 years, in which the spotlight was thrown on new and emerging indie artists around the globe. Currently, Sam is a PhD student at Carleton University in the School of Indigenous and Canadian studies where she is continuing her MA research on colonial language in Canadian news and government institutions.

Samantha is both a writer and a fan of the arts and has been able to find numerous ways to pair the two. Eager to dive head first into writing for Spill, Samantha is an avid partaker and reviewer of live art in Toronto serving as an editor at Mooney on Theatre exploring live local theatre, she's a photojournalist for Go Globehopper, a travel, dining and tourism blog that focuses on Toronto and abroad and previously for Lithium Magazine. She's passionate about music, theatre, photography, and writing -- not necessarily in that order. She drinks tea more than coffee, prefers ciders over beers, and sings karaoke way too loudly. Scott was raised in southern Minnesota, attended the University of Wisconsin – Stout, spent some time abroad and currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife and their two daughters, only son and two dogs. Long time music lover and concert-goer, Scott has attended countless concerts and festivals since 1996. His fondest concert memories include meeting the love of his life at his first music festival. Sneaking into Linkin Park’s first Minnesota show. Hosting the second stage on the Projekt Revolution stop in Somerset in 2004 and pretty much every show he’s attended with his concert cohort, Scott. Yes, there’s two of them! As of late, Scott has started making memories and sharing his love of attending concerts with his children. Shinedown was his oldest daughters’ first show thanks to his cohort, The Interrupters was his youngest daughters’ first show. His son’s first show is still to be determined.
