CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK ANNOUNCES THE 2018 JIM BEAM INDIES WITH INDIE88 WINNERS
Canadian Music Week is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2018 Indies – presented by Jim Beam with Indie88 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in downtown Toronto, hosted by Indie88’s Josie Dye, Matt Hart, and Carlin Burton. Jessie Reyez, Gord Downie, Death from Above 1979, and The Glorious Sons took home the top prizes, with Pierre Kwenders, Ria Mae, and Iskwé amongst the other winners. Fan favourites The Rural Alberta Advantage, Said the Whale and Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs took to the stage, accompanied by Jim Beam Talent Search winner Alfie and Hall of Fame Inductees Teenage Head.
Celebrating the best of independent music – both Canadian and international – the Jim Beam INDIES with Indie88, supported by The Ontario Media Development Corporation through the Ontario Music Fund, proved to be an unforgettable night for fans and industry alike.
