SMOKER DAD – “ROLLIN’ ON”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
From the foggy heartland of Seattle, there comes a band serving up “deep fried rock ‘n’ roll” so hot that people burn their tongues just talking about them. That band is Smoker Dad, and with the release of their single and music video “Rollin’ On” out July 24th, they also announce their upcoming sophomore LP, Hotdog Highway. The band consists of Trevor Conway on vocals and guitar, Teagen Conway on lead guitar, Chris King on vocals and keys, Derek Luther on bass, Adam Knowles on drums, and Chris Costalupes on pedal steel. This motley crew has been playing together in some form for over eight years, and is known for the keen humor they bring to the challenge of surviving and persisting in the music industry.
“We’ve had some great opportunities and played a ton of killer shows, but what really sticks out are all the good times we’ve had together,” Trevor says. “Rollin’ On is about being in a touring band and the ups and downs that come along with it. Every show is different, some make you want to quit and others remind you why you’re rollin’ down that road in the first place. Playing music night after night with your best friends really is a dream come true, though. Even the tough shows are high points when you’re having fun.”
That attitude really shines through in the music video for “Rollin’ On” – the playful lightheartedness and love the band has for what they’re doing and for each other makes the VHS-shot montage of moments extremely fun to watch. Their energy is as infectious as the song, which is a catchy ode to the road and perfectly sets the tone for what all’s to come for Smoker Dad.
