BLUE FOUNDATION
CLOSE TO THE KNIFE
KØN RECORDS

Danish band Blue Foundation are no newcomers, at least that cannot be said about the band’s frontman, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Tobias Wilner, who favours that Mark E. Smith concept of a revolving musical cast when working in a band setting. Since 2010, the core members of the band have been Tobias Wilner and Bo Rande, working between Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and Copenhagen, Denmark.
The band’s latest album, Close to the Knife, continues the band’s blend of dream pop/shoegaze and electro-pop, which they seem to have refined to quite minute detail, with quite a cinematic sound, something which already brought them soundtrack spots in films like Twilight, Miami Vice, and TV series Vampire Diaries.
A great sense of melody and that detailed approach works so well on practically each and every track here often aided by collaborators like Findlay Brown, DJ Krush, and Sara Savery among others.
