The Chap will share the same-titled lead single from their forthcoming Burger Sauce EP on Lo Recordings on the 14th of April 2023.
The new EP, which is set for release in May, features ten tracks and is the follow up to the band’s seventh album Digital Technology from 2020.
After being reduced to Zooming rather than touring by ‘you-know-what’, The Chap returned to the studio to create some more dystopian disco feasts – taking Digital Technology‘s John-Carpenter-style techno piece ‘Merch’ as a starting point.
Spanning horror-soundtrack-string techno vibes; sonic meditations on desk fans; and office space, this largely instrumental collection of new tracks reveals a different side to The Chap: exploring the sound of waiting, of simmering frustration, and turning it into something darkly beautiful. The perfect soundtrack while waiting for the next full-blown Chap album, on which work has begun…
