OBEY CONVENTION XI – HALIFAX, NS EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Presenting a wide range of artists across genres, identities and disciplines, OBEY Convention is a celebration like no other. Over four glorious days, the coastal city of Halifax is filled with new sounds, new ideas and new ways of being together. Our unique programme infiltrates historic and alternative spaces throughout the peninsula, creating a poetical narrative by weaving experimentation, education and all-out wilding. None of our events overlap. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Everyone is welcome to channel and feel the noise between us!
Headliners include fire-hot Portuguese kuduro prodigy NÍDIA, legendary avant- industrial cult ONO, NYC’s noise exorcist Pharmakon, tension-heavy tonebreaker Sarah Hennies, Chinese-Canadian classical master Liu Fang, dadaist sound freek i dm theftable, Toronto’s new-jazz phenom Joseph Shabason and French-Haitian sound healer Anaïs Maviel.
