BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE “BANG-A-LANG” FT. COLLIE BUDDZ | FESTIVAL & FIFA LIVE DATES
DINE ALONE RECORDS
JUNO Award-winning and Platinum-selling Bedouin Soundclash return with new single “Bang-A-Lang”, available now via Dine Alone Records. Their first new offering since 2022’s acclaimed We Will Meet In A Hurricane, the irresistible new summer tune sees longtime musical partners Jay Malinowski and Eon Sinclair team up with Bermudian reggae artist Collie Buddz, and teases at more to come.
“‘Bang-a-lang’ was originally just a hook I had and without much meaning, until one morning I was working on the track and my son Finn was up early banging around with some toys,” shares Malinowski, speaking on the track. “Collie sent me over his verse and he had his daughter Izzy singing in the background and I thought ‘what a great double-meaning’ so I put Finn at the end of the track singing with Izzy. ‘Bang-a-lang’ is for whoever in your life is at the centre of your world (and making all the noise).”
The new track arrives amidst a run of summer shows including two official FIFA World Cup events in Vancouver and Toronto, as well as upcoming festival stops in Kingston, ON and
Victoria, BC.
“Bang-A-Lang” comes on the heels of Jay Malinowski’s recent solo LP, Under A Landslide of Stars, released under the moniker MALINOWSKI. Recorded at Vancouver’s legendary Armoury Studios and mixed by Davey Badiuk (Liam Gallagher, Dragonette), the expansive, choir-driven, and deeply human album stretches from intimate songs of love and family, to meditations on devotion, violence, and the search for real meaning beneath an endless ocean of stars.
Bedouin Soundclash rose to international acclaim when their sophomore Platinum-selling album Sounding a Mosaic (2004), featuring the global hit “When The Night Feels My Song”, earned Bedouin a JUNO Award for Best New Group. Over the years, the band has continued to evolve their sound weaving influences of reggae, soul, jazz, gospel, and electronic across acclaimed albums like Street Gospels (2007), Light the Horizon (2010), and MASS (2019).
Bedouin Soundclash’s last album, We Will Meet In A Hurricane, arrived to critical acclaim in 2022 via Dine Alone Records. Co-produced by Malinowski and Colin Stewart (The New Pornographers, Destroyer, Dan Mangan, Black Mountain), the buoyant and soulful tracks on
We Will Meet In A Hurricane find Bedouin digging back into their musical roots, steeped in the border-bending sounds the band is known for.
Renowned for their incredible live shows, the band have shared the stage with a laundry list of iconic artists including No Doubt, Ben Harper, Damian Marley, The Roots, and Bad Brains to name just a few. The band celebrated the 20th anniversary of Sounding a Mosaic with an extensive Canadian tour, and supported the inimitable Frank Turner on his NA run including a performance at his award-winning festival, Lost Evenings VII in Toronto.
