THESE GIRLS ARE ELECTRIC – A SONIC NEW LIFE
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE ALBUM PREMIERE
A Sonic New Life is the fourth and final EP in These Girls Are Electric’s current release cycle, following Signals, Isle of Souls and Lost Universe. Across three songs and the instrumental “Take Off”, the EP moves through conflict, inner collapse and a futuristic search for connection towards the possibility of a new beginning.
“Last Strike” is a defiant anti-war song about solidarity, pain and perseverance in chaotic times. “Dark Desire” turns inward, following a character lost in a self-created world of illusion, emotional emptiness and distorted truths. The title track “Sonic New Life” moves into a posthuman future where feelings have become electrical impulses and two uprooted beings search for connection, freedom and genuine passion. “Take Off” closes the EP with a hypnotic departure into the unknown.
Musically, A Sonic New Life moves between electronica, lo-fi pop, post-punk and experimental soundscapes — bringing the four-EP cycle to an end with the idea of transformation, connection and renewal.
ARTIST QUOTE
“A Sonic New Life closes a cycle that began with Signals and travelled through Isle of Souls and Lost Universe. It feels less like an ending than a take-off — into something we don’t quite know yet.”
