Burgeoning alt singer-songwriter Lia Pappas-Kemps ushers in her much-anticipated next chapter with the release of her debut album, Winged, arriving March 13, 2026 via Coalition Music. Lia has also unveiled “Towers,” her new single that will appear on the forthcoming LP. Rooted in vulnerability and restraint, the song continues Lia’s gift for turning internal moments into something cinematic and resonant. It’s an emotional reckoning, built on propulsive guitar work, spacious production, and Lia’s unmistakably intimate vocal delivery. With its poetic lyricism, a slow-burn intensity, and exploration of love’s fragile architecture, “Towers” is the perfect prelude for Lia’s full-length effort.
Hailing from Toronto, the 21-year-old has quickly emerged as one of alternative music’s most compelling new voices, praised for her close-to-the-bone storytelling, evocative chord progressions, and rich songwriting. Her work pairs emotional clarity with striking melodic depth and has drawn comparisons to early Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, and Alanis Morissette, as well as modern staples Soccer Mommy and Alvvays. Past releases, including fan favorites like “Jinx” and Lia’s first EP Gleam, have earned millions of streams and critical acclaim across North America and beyond. The songstress’ latest release – the ethereal acoustic ballad “Revolving Doors” – will also appear on her debut effort.

““Towers” is a song I wrote in my living room in Montreal with my cousin Elia,” Lia explained. “It began with a demo that we listened to incessantly. Re-recording it was a pain because we became so attached to the demo, and eventually we ended up keeping most of those original elements. It’s about the tipping point of a relationship, when everything feels like it’s slipping. The last-ditch effort to preserve what you had with someone.”
