HANNAH FRANCES
KEEPER OF THE SHEPHERD
RUINATION RECORD CO.
From the moment “Bronwyn” opens up on Β Keeper of The Shepherd, the new album by Hannah Frances, you realize she has been immersed with music since she can probably remember. There is not only the confidence and experience felt here, but also the emotional connection with music, and art in general.
Actually, Frances, who has been taking dance, piano, trumpet, and voice lessons since the age of 5, is a fully expressed artist here, presenting a set of intricate, often even complex progressive folk compositions, that cover such a wide musical ground that is sometimes hard to define.
Yet, instead of that complexity being too ‘dry’ or too intellectual as some might say, Frances infuses so much of her own personality into music here that it has that emotional element that actually gives it true substance.
At the same time, her vocal instrumental capabilities fully match her songwriting that you would definitely want to keep this ‘shepherd.’
