SKYDIGGERS HOLD ONTO HOPE WITH THEIR NEW SINGLE “DREAMS AND SECOND CHANCES”

In exciting news for fans, Skydiggers have also announced a series of tour dates, including a special hometown show at The Concert Hall in Toronto on May 31. Don’t miss an unforgettable night of music, where they’ll be joined by special guests Brooks and Bowskill. Additional stops include Peterborough, Ottawa, Halifax and Charlottetown. “Michael Johnston and I started sending each other song ideas last October,” shares Andy Maize. “What began as snatches of melody here and a line or two of lyrics there became several solid ideas which turned into songs, of which “Dreams and Second Chances” was the first. Here’s a note I sent to Michael after writing a first draft of the lyrics…”
“MJ! A rough idea for you to check out from your guitar demo from two days ago… There’s been a rash of friends separating recently… don’t know if it’s a hangover from the pandemic, the chaotic state of the world, aging/dying parents or once the nest is empty wondering if this is the person you want to spend what’s left of your life with… dunno.. I guess it’s been on my mind… Working title, Dreams and Second Chances… ”
For this new single, Skydiggers made a stop at The Bathouse, The Tragically Hip’s recording studio in Kingston, between two shows on their November 2024 Eastern Ontario tour. “Andy and I had a few tunes prepared, including this new one that he co-wrote with Michael Johnston,” shares Josh Finlayson. “The Bathouse was designed by musicians, for musicians to perform together live and document their songs. We have a long history and many memorable experiences from The Bathouse. So much more came out of that session, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans. ‘Dreams and Second Chances’ is a welcome addition to the Skydiggers catalogue.”
