ARTWALK TO OPEN WAYHOME FESTIVAL WITH VISUAL ARTISTS
SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY DARCYS AND PRIVATE FEAST IN THE FOREST
Republic Live announced last night that the WayHome ArtWalk has been expanded in programming this year and will take place Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 8PM on the festival grounds at Burlβs Creek. The ArtWalk will allow festival-goers an opportunity to explore the grounds and meet all of the visual artists who have created art installations for this yearβs WayHome Music and Arts along with a special performance by Darcys. In addition to the ArtWalk, a new, ticketed culinary event will occur that evening with Feast in The Forest, presented by Charlieβs Burgers. All tickets and offerings are currently on sale at www.wayhome.com
“We have always recognized food as an art form and felt that year-two of WayHome was the perfect time to start to celebrate food in new and exciting ways,β says Eva Dunford, founder, WayHome Music & Arts Festival. βI had the opportunity to attend a Charlieβs Burgers dinner last fall and I just knew they would be an ideal culinary partner to help bring something truly special and unique to our fans who are always in search for the next best culinary experience.β
Feast in The Forest, presented by Charlieβs Burgers is a celebration of great food and wine set amongst the beautiful pine trees, wild flowers and pond, of the super exclusive Artist Hospitality area. WayHome has become known for its magical backstage where artists make themselves at home and for one night only, anyone who purchases a Feast in the Forest ticket, as well as being a ticket holder to WayHome, will have a chance to dine where the artists do. Tickets for Feast in the Forest will go on sale June 11th and fans are encouraged to act quickly to avoid disappointment as tickets are very limited.
βThe ArtWalk was so well received in our inaugural year we wanted to expand on the programming and are excited to be bringing music and food into the programming as these are two elements that enhance an immersive cultural experience, β said Ryan Howes, creative director, WayHome Music and Arts. βTo have Do LaB, Angus Watt, OCAD, Aaron Li-Hill, Charles Bierk, Trevor Wheatley and Cosmo Dean, Nathan Whitford, Puncture, Balloon Chain and artists curated by the The Drake that include; βͺLady AIKO, βͺBirdO, βͺJimmy Chiale, βͺDiana Lynn VanderMeulen,βͺ Videomancy, βͺPeter Rahul and Alex McLeod, all in attendance to talk about the pieces they have created for the festival is a huge coup. We are very excited that festival-goers will have the chance to meet them and hear the stories and inspirations behind their pieces. Having Darcys performing at the WayAway stage, nestled in the forest, is going to be a wonderful way to kick off the musical performances over the weekend. We are also very pleased to have a new ticket available for our Feast in the Forest, cast against the beautiful backdrop our pine trees, wildflowers and island, this will be one of the most unique settings Charlieβs Burgers has ever hosted the gourmet dinners they have become famous for.β
