Ok, if you follow the singer songwriter scene closely, you might have noticed that recently there have not been that many so to say ‘classic’ singer songwriters, those that sit (or stand) with their acoustic instrument and essentially rely on what they have to say with their lyrics and their vocals.

And if you are currently missing that concept, you don’t have to look much further than Surrey, BC singer-songwriter CocoLarosa, and his debut solo album The Valley Of Tongues.

“It’s something often spoken ‘bout but seldom that it’s seen/It’s the dawning of a new age and the ending of a regime/And it’s just work,” sings CocoLarosa here on “God Help Me.” Judging only by this verse you get the sense that here we have somebody who has something to say and can rely just on his acoustic guitar and gritty vocals. Also experience speaks, as CocoLarosa still hasn’t given up his day job from which that grit and life experience in his lyrics probably come from.
