J:DEAD – “I’LL WAIT”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
J:dead is the solo project from Jay Taylor created in 2019. After the first release of their song “Haunt” J:dead were signed to Infacted Recordings and released 2 further singles (Feeding on me and A complicated genocide – single) as well as a full length feature album ( A complicated genocide – album). J:dead is whatever it needs to be: without labels, stereotypes, scene driven boxes or goals other than to inspire others. J:dead’s ambition is to make others feel alive by listening and feeling the creation of someone losing themselves. Influences are taken from a range of decades and musical styles to create something unique and new within its own setting. J:dead provides emotional and lyric driven tracks with a dark synthpop yet aggressive vibe.
After the success of the releases from the first album, various remixes and collaborations: J:dead is back in quick succession with their new EP – Vision Of Time, released in early 2022 with their first single of this EP – “I’ll Wait”, out on Dec 17th 2021. “I’ll Wait” is a song which features heavy saw bass lines, powerful vocals with Jay’s typical style of constant melody hooks and builds. The song was written over the past year with all of the effects of the world not being able to engage in normal life and seeing / finding the people important to us. We have all had the sense of waiting for things to change, and this song is a reflection on if we can wait for the things and loved ones we desire. The single will be released digitally alongside two startlingly different remixes. The first being from TeknoVore – straight off the back of the J:deadVSTeknoVore collaboration track – “Tearing Me Apart”. The second being from “Lights Of Euphoria” that has a distinct club sound we expect to hit dancefloors with the urge to make you move.
Again J:dead has kept his collaboration work with Mondo Cheapo video production for the “I’ll Wait” music video which provides gripping visuals with a sinister twist of the story line, to question if what we are waiting / looking for is with good intentions…..
ARTIST QUOTE
“I’ll Wait” was one of the first songs I wrote straight off the bat after releasing the first album. We were all amongst restrictions or lack of seeing friends and loved ones, and this song was formed in the midst of all considering how long we have to wait for it to change. I also feel this song is a great introduction from what you may expect to hear in the upcoming EP (Vision of time – out early 2022). The one thing I can be grateful for, was being able to be creative within the waiting period.
