FRIENDLYBEAR – “LOVE BLUFF”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
“Love Bluff” was produced at Deathstar Studios in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California, by Michael Eisenstein, and mastered by Grammy-winning mastering engineer Hans Dekline. The song’s vibe is friendly pop rock, but the lyrics are raw and relatable, dedicated to all those who have found themselves on the receiving end of a love bluff. This is not a typical love song, evident from the first line: “I’m hating it.” It tells the tale of someone coming to terms with the reality that their relationship is one-sided, that their partner’s show of feeling isn’t the real thing. As Guy Jedidiah’s lyric goes: “Every single night when you tell me you love me, I cannot believe it.” FriendlyBear says: “We wanted our first music video to be totally ridiculous, and we wanted to involve our friends in the process. We had a ton of fun making it, and think you’ll have as much fun watching it.” The music video was produced by friends of the band Eric Michael Schrader and Kevin T. Miller, and stars friends as well.
