BRONCHO
NATURAL PLEASURE
BRONCHO WORLDWIDE

Indie rock darlings Broncho finally have a new album, Natural Pleasure. This is their first album since 2018’s Bad Behavior in which the band incorporated more pop elements into the mix. Yet again, BRONCHO shakes things up and tries something different with Natural Pleasure.
Natural Pleasure sees Broncho continuing to evolve and expand their sonic palette. Their newest album is much heavier on textures and atmospheres than previous ones. With a gorgeous, lush soundscape, dreamy atmosphere, Ryan Lindsey’s hypnotically transcendent vocals, and beautiful vocal harmonies, “Funny” will get stuck in your head. It is just as addictive as their hit song “Class Historian”. “Cool” feels reminiscent of a Massive Attack song. The groovy bass, Lindsey’s intoxicating vocals, and the ambient beats are captivatingly entrancing. “Get Gone” is an entertaining blast of lo-fi psychedelic dance music. This deserves to be the next club/dance anthem. It is bound to make all listeners move along to the beat. Lastly, “Think I Pass” is an excellent combination of indie rock with stunning atmospheres. The guitars sparkle brightly in a vibrant psychedelia soundscape.
Lindsey’s uniquely wonderful vocals really shine in Natural Pleasure. In the charmingly sexy “Save Time”, his vocals are as mesmerizing as ever. Those snazzy guitar licks mesh well with his voice and give it extra suaveness. On the other hand, listeners will get lost in the hazy textures and Lindsey’s catchy vocals of “Imagination”.
Lyrically, the album touches upon many things, including love and life. In “You Got Me”, Lindsey tenderly reflects on parenthood. It is super heartwarming, particularly the lyric, “You got your mom / And you got me”. Meanwhile, “Funny” is a lighthearted tune loosely based on Lindsey stealing his girlfriend’s jokes.
Overall, Broncho’s Natural Pleasure is a bold and exciting new direction for the band. It will be interesting to see where they decide to go stylistically on their next album.
