FAMILIAR WILD – “THINGS WE FORGOT”
A Spill Exclusive Video Premiere
Familiar Wild writes “pop music with heart and soul…and brain…and kindness” (DJ Champion). This Pacific Northwest band charismatically pushes the edge of Pop; disarming the listener with stirring atmospheres, rare melodic angles and inviting textures. Their new album, Things We Forgot, combines Electro, Folk and Pop elements and could be the love child of Indie Folk band Daughter, Scandi-Pop artist Susanne Sundfor and Electro-based Postal Service. Other influences heard on the album are Hundred Waters, The Knife, and elements of the Ambient Electro Folk genre. This track simply explores the childhood memories we may forget as we age.
Quote (courtesy of Impose Magazine)
“Familiar Wild creates dreamy tracks that induce images of their [Pacific Northwest] surroundings– dark nights, looming rainclouds, and nostalgia for something brighter. With deep electro-synth influences, the band creates a tribe-like atmosphere. It’s no surprise that their biography begins with “The tame sing like wolves.””
