About Jim Dan Dee:
Jim Dan Dee have a sound that can only be described as unique. Think Morphine meets The Meters meets Dick Dale. The band marries a mix of blues, rock, funk and rockabilly into a sound that has been dubbed “Bourbon fueled funkabilly grunge blues”. Poignant lyrics delivered by a powerful and soulful voice, accompanied by slide guitar, supported by a strong bass and drum pocket and coloured with sax and keyboards give the songs an undeniable energy and groove. All of this is delivered by an amazingly tight, energetic show that makes JDD a band you don’t want to miss.
Jim Dan Dee has been busy in their first year. JDD has been playing numerous shows in clubs around Ontario, as well as major festivals. Jim Dan Dee has played Indie Week, Canadian Music Week, NXNE, TD Jazz Fest and WTFest. They have had the privilege to share the stage with major acts such as Big Wreck, The Trews and I Mother Earth.
Jim Dan Dee just released their first collection of songs in July of 2015. The EP, called 5 Stiff Shots, delivers a solid and stiff blast of blues, funk, and grunged up rockabilly. The first single “Friends” is gained great momentum, and has the fans begging for more.
Jim Dan Dee is set to rock any stage offered to them, give the fans an amazing show, and leave them wanting more. To see them live is truly an amazing musical experience.
