HAWKSLEY WORKMAN ANNOUNCES NEW BRITISH COLUMBIA AND ALBERTA TOUR DATES | LATEST EP FLY LIKE AN EGO AVAILABLE NOW
ISADORA RECORDS
Award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hawksley Workman will be hitting the road for an extensive Canadian tour this fall, kicking off November 13 in Ottawa, which features a brand new west coast leg with stops in British Columbia and Alberta. See the full routing below.
The tour comes on the heels of a successful UK run supporting his recent EP, Fly Like An Ego, which arrived earlier this year. Produced by Steve Bays (Mounties, Hot Hot Heat), the six track collection is a kaleidoscopic blast of indie pop charm, bursting with electric hooks, punchy grooves, and Workman’s signature sonic flair. “The stage has become a place for remembering connection, the single strongest driver behind what I do,” shares Workman. “It’s where I get to explore the power of oneness and the pure present moment. That connection depends on a willing audience, and I’ve been lucky to build one eager to journey ‘beyond.’ For that, I’m truly grateful.
Looking ahead to the upcoming shows, Workman says he’s eager to bring that same spirit of exploration to the stage. “For the last UK solo run, I pushed myself to perform newer and more ‘forgotten’ songs. You can rehearse endlessly, but a song only finds its confidence in front of an audience. Mr. Lonely and I are now diving into rehearsals, adding a new big rock-club section and dusting off older duo pieces. We may even transform ourselves, from time to time, into a Dance-Rock Power Duo, and yes, the keytar will finally make an appearance.”
He adds, “On these two tours you can expect to hear some long-forgotten orphans, in particular the song ‘Striptease’, which is arguably my biggest hit in Canada, and a song I rarely play live. We are also planning on some extreme deep cuts like, ‘Above Ground Pool’, which has never been played live. Expect some introspective moments and some exciting rockers too!”
A uniquely enduring Canadian artist, Workman has maintained a decades-long career while still drawing crowds worldwide and amassing new fans with every release. The JUNO Award-winning and Gold Record certified singer-songwriter had a landmark year on the road in 2024, touring across every Canadian province and the Yukon. Internationally, he also completed a successful tour across the UK and Europe.
Since his ground-breaking self-produced indie debut For Him and The Girls (1999), through chart-topping singles of the 2020’s, Hawksley has careened between major label international smash hits to Canadiana-soaked indie releases. Boasting a catalogue of 17 solo records, Hawksley’s genre defying style strings together folk, chart pop and irrepressible cabaret. His show-stopping vocals on songs about weather, love, heartbreak and tales of end-times have garnered him a league of devoted fans.
Performing over a thousand shows worldwide, Hawksley has headlined prestigious venues like Massey Hall and The Olympia in Paris. He has built loyal fan bases in the UK, France, Norway and Australia launching many successful tours, demystifying and delighting fans while drawing on an enviable catalogue of mischievous favourites, glammy stompers and heartfelt hymns to small town Canada.
