DYNASTY – “THE WELL”
INDEPENDENT
Hamilton-based synth-pop duo Dynasty return with “The Well,” a breezy, emotionally resonant track that blends laid-back energy with reflective synth-driven melodies. Rooted in nostalgia yet feeling fresh, the song captures a moment of lightness and flow, reminding listeners that not everything in life needs to be heavy to leave a lasting impact.
The track came together in under an hour, sparked by a synth idea from Marcone (songwriter/mix engineer/co-producer/synth player) that immediately clicked with Jenni Dreager (vocalist/songwriter/co-producer/drum programming). The vocals were re-recorded to preserve the relaxed, honest energy of the original demo. At the same time, production choices focused on simplicity, which meant letting the synths lead and keeping the vocal delivery low-key. The result is a track that feels effortless, warm, and immersive.
Dynasty is the combined vision of Jenni Dreager and Roman Marcone, creating synth-pop that blends emotional storytelling with rich, atmospheric production. Their music fuses dreamy textures, nostalgia, ’80s-inspired synths, and modern pop sensibilities, inviting listeners to explore the emotional spectrum of being human. What started as a one-off collaboration quickly grew into a full project, sparked by a shared desire to make music that is honest, cinematic, and deeply personal.
Both Marcone and Dreager have been integral collaborators in some of the most creative and successful music endeavours to ever come out of Southern Ontario, including Walk Off The Earth, Darenots, Street Pharmacy, Rules, The Coppertones, and more.
ARTIST QUOTE
“Some songs take forever to write, but this one came together really quickly and naturally,” Jenni shares. “I recorded the vocals and ended up hating them because I was trying too hard. So, I re-recorded them the same way I sang the demo. [I] just tried to relax and not overthink it. That version felt way more honest and worked better with the track.”
