GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS W/ CANYON LIGHTS
@ GREY EAGLE RESORT AND CASINO, TSUUT’INA NATION, CALGARY (AB)
MARCH 20, 2026
Currently, legendary rockers George Thorogood & The Destroyers have been embarking on their The Baddest Show on Earth Tour. Later this year, the band will be releasing a new album titled The Baddest Show On Earth: Greatest Hits Live, containing live performances throughout the years of their most iconic hits. George Thorogood & The Destroyers rocked the stage at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Tsuut’ina Nation.
Opening the night was Canyon Lights. They set the stage wonderfully with some great ‘70s throwback rock ‘n’ roll songs. “Late To The Ball” was a standout song. It is a total jam, featuring a sing-along chorus, captivating vocals from Pat Faherty, rad guitar riffs, and plenty of memorable hooks. Odds are, many audience members added this to their summer rock playlist after the show. Another highlight was “Running Wild.” With an anthemic chorus, high-octane energy, undeniably badass guitar slides, aggressive drumming, and gritty swagger, this blues rock tune was a blast from start to finish.
As soon as George Thorogood & The Destroyers went out onto the stage, they were met with loud applause. The entire night, you could tell how much they love playing these songs for their devoted fanbase. Lots of songs were extended, whether that be Thorogood making some fun little quips, stretching out a guitar solo, or the entire band jamming out.

“Who Do You Love?” was a smashing success, delivering all the goods. The stomping rhythm, pounding bassline, relentless energy, and iconic guitar riff sounded perfect live. “Get A Haircut” was another highlight, offering some great blues rock mixed with some light humour. This was probably Thorogood’s best vocal performance of the night. Everyone was on their feet for roughly 75% of the setlist, especially “Bad To The Bone,” “I Drink Alone,” and “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer.” As soon as the band started playing “Bad To The Bone” and “I Drink Alone,” the crowd was locked in. Lots of people were singing along to every word of these songs. Plus, the two songs feature iconic guitar riffs (especially “Bad To The Bone”) and mesmerizing saxophone solos that were a delight to hear live. Alternatively, “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” was super entertaining, and despite the track’s long runtime, it never once felt bland. George Thorogood & The Destroyers consistently made the song interesting. For “Born To Be Bad,” which was the encore song, Faherty joined the band on guitar and vocals. Faherty fit in superbly, and it was a splendid way to end the night.
Thorogood had a terrific stage presence. He was constantly interacting with the audience, had a huge smile on his face, cracking jokes, and clearly having a fun time. Additionally, his voice sounded tremendous, and his guitar playing was phenomenal.
Performing for over 50 years is a fantastic accomplishment. George Thorogood & The Destroyers are still going strong and giving it their all. If you want a nostalgic night out, be sure to check out one of their upcoming shows.
