The Cinematic Orchestra
To Believe
Ninja Tune
Cinematic Orchestra has just dropped their fourth album To Believe.
Although itβs been 12 years since they released their last album, the British nu jazz and electronic music group hasnβt lost any of their melodic beauty.
Their most well-known track βTo Build a Home (featuring Patrick Watson),β which was on their last album Ma Fleur, was a simple piano and vocal-centred, heart-wrenching song that had a profound effect on many music lovers. The single was even used in the Orange Is The New Black finale and This Is Us.
The title track on To Believe is no different. While the track is a touch more complex than βTo Build a Home (featuring Patrick Watson),β there is still that sweeping emotion that carries you away. Featuring Moses Sumney, the haunting vocals harmonize perfectly with the melody creating pure magic.
The remainder of the album holds to their signature sound, but with each track the group pushes the boundaries of what is musically capable. To Believe is an utter joy to sit back and listen to, reminding this music lover what it is to enjoy an entire album.
