BUILDINGS AND FOOD
PROVINCIAL PARK
INDEPENDENT

Can you make a direct connection with nature through electronic music (ambient or otherwise)? Well, Jen K. Wilson, aka Buildings and Food, thinks that is possible and she keeps on making that connection with quite some ease with her music. She did it with her previous album Echo The Field, and she does it again with her new offering Provincial Park.
This time around, as she notes herself, it is “a love letter to the Canadian backcountry that I have explored all my life and continue to explore. Provincial Park is comprised of melodic ambient and minimalist IDM tracks and is a meditation on Jack pines, pond life, wildlife encounters, dead lakes returning to life, and other wonders discovered through time spent in the backcountry.”
So how does she fare this time around? In two words, quite admirably, as she is able to transform the ideas of her words into music even for those listeners that weren’t able to experience the Canadian backcountry themselves.
