JEEN ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM GOLD CONTROL OUT FEBRUARY 2 CO-PRODUCED WITH IAN BLURTON | NEW SINGLE “MAKING ME MAD” OUT NOW

JEEN shares a blunt, drowsy rock track today, co-produced by long-time collaborator, Canadian indie musician Ian Blurton. “Making Me Mad” is as straightforward as the title suggests, with JEEN explaining that “There was so much bad shit in the news when I wrote this last spring. Everything kept grinding me down and making me mad.” She channeled those emotions into the lyric video below or HERE. This is the second single from her forthcoming album, Gold Control, out on February 2, 2024.

Gold Control is hazy, heady, hedonistic and hopeful. The luminous ten tracker is her fourth album this decade, gliding along the same trajectory as its predecessors while maintaining its own identity. Grunge. Garage. Psych-rock. Punk. Tinges of Shoegaze. Her influences continue to shine as she crafts them into her own vehicle with ease. JEEN joins creative forces once again with Blurton (Future Now, C’mon, Change Of Heart) who has taken on this role for JEEN’s last five albums.

“Making Me Mad” follows lead single “Just Shadows” which is about “how the darker parts of everything can snuff out some of the best people’s light.” Its quick frantic pace bounces along and transports the listener to those communal sweaty nights in dodgy, body-packed underground clubs with the band five feet away making all feel as one. More information will be unveiled about Gold Control in the coming months.
