SHINE MUSIC BURSARY – GIVING AWAY MONEY TO YOUNG MUSICIANS
SHINE is currently looking for applicants for the 2023 round of bursaries. The application deadline of January 15th, 2023 is looming fast. Don’t delay – apply now!
SHINE Music Bursaries are awarded annually to selected youth (aged 16 to 24) from the GTA and surrounding communities who face personal or financial challenges that make it a struggle for them to fulfill their musical potential. The SHINE Music Bursary is particularly interested in supporting young musicians who seek to further their study or practice of traditional or folk genres of music.
While helping to encourage the next generation of young musicians, SHINE honors the memory of the previous generation by offering bursaries starting at $1000, each named in honour of four inspiring Toronto musicians and musical mentors whom we lost too soon: Jim Fay, James Gray, Doug Queen and Bruce Adamson. Since 2010, we are proud to have awarded over $80,000 in bursary support.
