SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: FENNE LILY – WIN WIN

Fenne Lily

FENNE LILY
WIN WIN
NETTWERK MUSIC GROUP

Brooklyn via Bristol, England singer-songwriter (whatever that term implies these days) Fenne Lily is no newcomer. With four albums under her name (Win Win being the latest) and quite a number of collaborations, she has been building a name for herself, with over 250 million streams as a gauge, telling that story.

Still, the key story here is that on the evidence of Win Win, both she and her listeners have a verification of this album’s title. The 10 tracks on the album can represent a showcase of how a modern singer songwriter should sound like – confident in her (or his) talent, using that talent in an intelligent way, and with candor without getting too mushy or self-pitying and injecting a good sense of humor (and Fenne’s got a hefty dose of dry one here). Being able to convey all of the above through solid, tight songwriting and a good singing must are a given, and Fenne Lily has all of the above on this album.
