ÁRNÝ MARGRÉT
I MISS YOU, I DO: THE SJÁUMST EDITION
ONE LITTLE INDEPENDENT RECORDS

Excellent artists from Iceland—or anywhere else that is not U.S. or U.K.—are no big surprise for decades now, so neither was the fact that Iceland’s Árný Margrét really made splashes with her second album, I Miss You, I Do. Simply put, Margrét has both some great songwriting skills and a voice to support it. And when you add to that some discreet, tasteful, arrangements, such music should find its audience without a problem, or that is a way it should be.
In any case, Margrét is now back with an expanded edition of that album, I Miss You, I Do: The Sjáumst Edition. Very often, these editions are a cash in by record companies and artists, usually timed for the holiday season with not that much worthy extra material. Yet, there are exceptions, and this just might be one of them.
First of all, the original 10 songs included on the first edition of the album all deserve attention, particularly for listeners that did not catch them the first time around. There are also one new track and three alternate versions. The additional materials are all essential in the way, particularly for those who are already familiar with Margrét.
