LAZARETTES – “(YOUR LOVE IS A) PLAYLIST”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
Toronto indie rock outfit Lazarettes return with “(Your Love Is a) Playlist,” a soaring, guitar-driven anthem that pairs infectious alt-rock hooks with a darker, atmospheric post-punk edge. Built around layered guitars and a harmony-rich chorus, the song is the latest taste of their forthcoming album Boil Me an Ocean, arriving January 2027.
Part celebration, part nostalgia trip and part full-throttle rock anthem, “(Your Love Is a) Playlist” is a love letter to the music that gets under our skin and stays there. From mixtapes to playlists, it’s about the songs that soundtrack our lives, shape our memories and say the things we sometimes can’t.
Produced by Ron Hawkins (Lowest of the Low) and recorded at Toronto’s Union Sound, the single continues a creative partnership that has pushed Lazarettes toward a bigger, more layered sound. Following recent releases “Chantale,” “Do It All Again” and “Undertow,” it’s another glimpse of a band hitting its stride ahead of Boil Me an Ocean.
