It’s your next chance to hear a song from our forthcoming album More, our brand new single “Got to Have Love”.
The just released track is available to stream now ahead of album release on 6 June – make sure you pre-order your copy now.
“‘Love’ is a word I was unable to say until I was approaching 40,” says Jarvis Cocker, introducing the new single. “I listened to love songs all the time but couldn’t use the word in real life. The words to this song are me having a word with myself about this state of affairs. I gave myself a real talking-to. I have now learnt how to say it whilst keeping a straight face. ‘You’ve got to have love’. Oh yes you have.”
Jarvis has also directed a video for the track which you can watch now.
Pairing “Got to Have Love” with iconic footage taken from the influential 1977 Wigan Casino documentary directed by Tony Palmer, the video weaves footage of Northern Soul dancers with our new song, as we suspect “Got to Have Love” might get a few people’s feet moving.
“I love dancing – & this is the best footage of dancing I’ve ever seen. I first saw it in Mark Leckey’s ‘Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore’ video” says Jarvis.

Well, there’s also a chance to hear the album before its release. We’ve teamed up with some of our favourite record shops around the globe to preview the record in full at a series of listening parties.
Details of the stores taking part can be found at https://welovepulp.info – with more to be added soon – but we can confirm that all the UK and Ireland listening parties will be taking place on the same day, 29 May, and to mark the occasion anyone present will be able to pre-order a special edition of More proudly displaying the name of the shop where you bought it.
Additionally, a limited number of Pulp goodie bags are being given away at all the listening parties taking place around the world.
