OUR NOISE RECRUIT THE DANDY WARHOLS’ PETER HOLMSTRÖM FOR HIS PIA REMIX OF “BLACKMAIL”
SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW ON INDESTRUCTABLE RECORDS
After breaking through with their widely-praised self-titled debut album earlier this year, Toronto’s OUR NOISE have now recruited renowned producer and The Dandy Warhols guitarist Peter Holmström to create a riveting remix of their standout offering, “Blackmail”.
Adopting a more ethereal and progressive nature than the original, this new reworking of “Blackmail’ adds a more atmospheric layer to their dark and brooding aesthetic. With its broad and explorative textures set to a wildly expressive production, their latest outing brings another vital edge to their already innovative aesthetic to date.
Speaking about the new remix, OUR NOISE said: “Our friend Shauna McLarnon in Canada hooked us up with Peter Holmstrom stating Peter was open to doing remixes and enjoyed doing them. We are all huge Dandy Warhol and Pete International Airport fans so this was an easy destination for us. Peter was very sweet and fast and sent us his Pia Remix. We love what he has presented.”
Emerging from the vibrant streets of Toronto and resonating through the bustling avenues of New York City, this indie-rock power trio presents as a force to be reckoned with. Their unique sound is an electrifying sonic, guitar-based blend of post-hardcore/punk, and heavy rock/grunge, with undertones of old-school funk bass grooves and 90s college rock.
The band has been compared to an array of artists and genres including PJ Harvey, Souxie and the Banshees to the Pixies, to Quicksand and Refused; it is an unquestionable mix of influences from grunge, to new wave to punk. The undeniable chemistry of its core members is a true triad of collaboration. dynamic Lucy Di Santo on Bass and vocals , she is flanked by the powerful Dan Cornelius on Drums and tasty guitar work of Steve Fall. OUR NOISE’s pedigree includes the popular 90’s Sire/Warner recording act ACID TEST and Bad Taste Records’ DANKO JONES.
As they continue to push the boundaries of their aesthetic, OUR NOISE’s latest remix looks to hone the more progressive angle they have been pursuing lately. Blending their distinctive indie-rock aesthetic with some wildly innovative ideas throughout, Peter Holmström’s addition to their catalogue marks the first step within the next phase of their musical evolution to date.
OUR NOISE (aka ‘ON’) will play their first UK dates in October, starting at The Fiddlers Elbow in Camden Town on October 12th.
