MAC DEMARCO ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM GUITAR & SHARES NEW SINGLE “HOME”
ROYAL MOUNTAIN RECORDS
Mac DeMarco has announce his new album, Guitar, will be released August 22nd and shares the lead single/video, “Home.”
Guitar was written and recorded in its entirety in November 2024 at Mac’s home in Los Angeles. Except for the mastering, which was handled by David Ives, Mac created and handled all aspects of this record on his own, including mixing the album in Canada, and shooting the music videos and album artwork on tripods. Mac comments, “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.”
Mac describes the new single, “Home,” as “a song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me.” He sings: “These days I’d much rather be on my own // No more walking those streets //That I once called my home // Because down every lane there are // Faces and names // That have memories attached // That I’d sooner let go // Sooner than I’d go home again.” Mac shot the song’s accompanying video while canoeing near his mom’s new home in Canada.
As previously announced, Mac’s entirely sold out 2025 tour of North America, Europe and the UK begins late August, including a full Canadian tour with stops in Halifax, Moncton, Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria.
You can pre-order Guitar now on Canada-exclusive opaque red vinyl right now.
