FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY & FOTOCRIME RELEASE NEW REMIX OF “CREATOR”
“(RE)CREATOR” IS OUT EVERYWHERE NOW ON ARTOFFACT RECORDS
Putting a fresh, unique spin on FLA’s classic track “Creator”, Fotocrime and Front Line Assembly present “(RE)CREATOR” – available now wherever you get your music, along with an instrumental version.
On the song and the opportunity to work on a Front Line Assembly track, Fotocrime shares: “When Artoffact invited Fotocrime to be part of their ongoing FLA remix project I jumped at the opportunity. Their song “Creator” immediately struck me with its sense of melody, lush synths, and gorgeous sequencing. As we embarked on the remix, we took the base elements and entirely reinterpreted the track, writing a new song we titled “(Re)Creator”.
“(Re)Creator” combines Front Line Assembly’s synths, programming, and other electronic elements with our chiming guitars, pulsing bass, analog drum machine, and my vocals.. The song took on a dark, anthemic quality, injected with the dusty mid-century balladeer mood and guitar twang that permeates much of our music.
Lyrically, the song explores ideas of reinvention, rediscovery, and dysmorphia. It speaks to what is put upon us versus what we want for ourselves’ artistically, personally, physically, and in many other ways. I wanted to express some of my feelings and my solidarity with everyone who feels drawn to recreating themselves in the ways they want.”
Dazzling with an epic, airy, post-punk atmosphere from the first note, today’s “(RE)CREATOR” remix by Fotocrime is the latest in a series of remixes of songs from Canada’s legendary industrial trailblazers Front Line Assembly’s Warmech album that have rolled out over the last year via Artoffact Records.
