Detroit Trio to Release Debut Album Daydream Produced by Grammy-Winner Graham Marsh on June 10 – U.S. Tour Dates Forthcoming
Retro-pop trio Empty Houses are proud to announce their signing to Sargent House, with whom they will release their debut album, Daydream, on June 10. Fans can preorder Daydream beginning tomorrow, Friday, April 8th.
Produced by four-time Grammy-winner Graham Marsh (Bruno Mars, CeeLo Green, Common) and Empty Houses at Parhelion Studios in Atlanta, Daydream marks the first release for the Detroit-based group, which formed in 2014 and features Ali Shea, Adam Mercer and David Mackinder.
Throughout its 10 tracks, Daydream is as timeless as it is uplifting, harkening back to the soulful stylings of Motown—a fitting choice given Empty Houses’ Motor City hometown—to crystalize the charm of this iconic musical era and give it a 21st-century sonic update. It’s a confident, classic sound that’s never really gone out of style, and here it’s bolstered by brassy horns, pounding piano and undeniable grooves that pay homage to Hitsville U.S.A.
With Shea’s soaring vocals and the trio’s seemingly effortless songwriting and hooks working in concert, listeners will be hard-pressed not to find something that moves them—whether that involves singing along (“Daydream”), stomping their feet (“Better of Me”) or slow-dancing (“Lost At Sea”).
Empty Houses will be on tour in support of Daydream this spring, bringing songs from the album to fans across the country. Stay tuned for tour dates!
