BRYAN WILLISTON – “WORKBOOTS”
INDEPENDENT
Based in Whitby, Ontario, singer-songwriter Bryan Williston is pleased to announce the release of his debut solo single, “Workboots”, currently available on Spotify.
Previously known for his work with Abby Zotz, in the acoustic/traditional act Two Roads Home and with Maurice Charland in the family-friendly duo Socks and Sandals, Williston is thrilled to be sharing new music.
“Workboots” is a charming slice of acoustic pop in the time-honoured tradition of artists such as The Beatles or Harry Nilsson, which sees the artist painting a picture of a world that could use some kindness.
Writing the song with collaborator David Roney (who handled initial production and much of the instrumentation) was a great experience for Williston. “David is a very talented and community-minded individual,” he says, “We were definitely on the same wavelength when it came to melodic and lyrical ideas.”
Further performance, production and polishing of “Workboots” came from singer, songwriter, and producer Jim Parker. Adding guitar, bass and drums to the track, Parker expanded the song’s sound. Of Parker’s contribution, Williston comments, “Jim is a music veteran, who is equally comfortable behind a mixing console, or laying down a sweet guitar track. His work here absolutely elevates the song.”
About the song’s tag line, “Kindness is just love with its workboots on,” Williston says, “It’s a phrase that really resonated, and I knew that it had to become a song. These are mean times, and we could all use a little kindness. Get your ‘Workboots’ on!”
