JELLY KELLY – “VITAMIN D”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE MUSIC PREMIERE
Jelly Kelly share their triumphant return today with their latest single, “Vitamin D,” via all streaming platforms. The track is taken from their upcoming album release, Warm Water due out June 2.
Jelly Kelly has steadily been making music for the past few years, and seem to outdo themselves every time. Their melodic riffs, combined with their buzzing instrumentation, offer up a sound that is both unique and nostalgic. Started by Kelly (vocals/guitar), initially as a side project from singing and playing guitar in Monogold, this has now become its own entity and band. Jared Apuzzo (drums), Nicolas Dube (guitar) and Dom Bodo (bass) round out the lineup.
Renowned for their signature blend of indie and rock aesthetics, Jelly Kelly carries this infectious crossover into their latest piece of art. Adopting an open and spacious mix, they successfully create a vibrant ambience, through which the layering and instrumentation leaves a lot for the listeners’ imagination, in a good way. Arranged to achieve maximal impact, the production is a testament to their artistic merits, and serves as a sensational backdrop to the vocal melodies which are layered on top.
Jelly Kelly creates a diverse soundscape, which allows them to place emphasis on certain words, and some interesting melodies. Singer Keith Kelly’s vocals weave throughout the track like a tiger hunting its prey. The instruments pave the way with their sonically alluring tones that will have you coming back time and time again. Known for their vibrant live shows, and paving the way for a newer Brooklyn sound, Jelly Kelly will fulfill your every musical need. “Vitamin D,” is out now.
ARTIST QUOTE
“Over the past few years we’ve all experienced various degrees of isolation. For the first time in our existence the world went quiet and so did our routines and normal social lives. The feeling of four walls and a window, to some may feel like a cage, but to others it’s a self imposed comfort. This song takes a look at the secret lives of those people, who watch from the windows at the coming and goings of others on the outside. Through the lens of wanting, an almost envy, they wish they could take part, even just for some sun on the skin, but the outside world and its ever moving variables are just plain and simply too scary. So the imagination becomes the place, where like the outside they can meet new people, see the sights and get that Vitamin D from that much talked about fireball in the sky.” ~Keith Kelly
