Jackson-Triggs has announced its 2024 Summer Concert Series lineup with a star-studded roster of Canadian talent performing in one of the region’s most intimate, outdoor venues at the Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate. Running most weekends throughout the summer until September 14, this year’s lineup includes performances from Chantal Kreviazuk, The Sheepdogs, The Trews and Brett Kissel.
The Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Amphitheatre offers music lovers unrivalled proximity to some of Canada’s best-known performers. The Amphitheatre is nestled in between the vines at the Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate winery and attracts concert goers to experience their favourite Canadian musical acts up close and personal, year after year.
“This is another exciting summer that pairs award-winning Canadian wine with homegrown musicians, for an exceptional concert-going experience that you can’t find anywhere else,” says Craig Swanson, Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Manager.
Artists consider this venue one of the most special in the country and make it a must-stop appearance on their performance schedules. Sam Roberts Band will be performing on opening weekend, marking the band’s 21st year playing at the Jackson-Triggs estate since the Concert Series’ inception in 2001.
“Performing at the Jackson-Triggs Amphitheatre is one of our band’s longest-running summer traditions,” says Sam Roberts, lead singer of Sam Roberts Band. “We keep coming back for that close connection we feel with the crowd. We’re excited to kick-off the series this year with two performances and keep the tradition going.”
Musical performances are one of many exceptional experiences at the Estate, which offers behind-the-scenes winemaking tours, exclusive wines, tastings and culinary offerings – with a full menu available in the Winery this year – making the Estate the only place to experience more than half a dozen Jackson-Triggs sparkling and a wide range of Grand Reserve varietals.
Great Estates Niagara Wine Club members will have early access to purchase tickets, with the pre-sale beginning April 2, 2024. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on April 4, 2024, and will be sold through TIXR.com.
About The Sheepdogs
Built on the solid, classic rock foundation of three-part harmonies and dual guitar leads, Canada’s Juno Award-winning Sheepdogs blend Southern rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock & roll revival. Emerging in 2004, the band found mainstream success in 2010 with the release of their platinum-selling third LP, Learn & Burn, and continued to top the Canadian charts with efforts like The Sheepdogs (2012), Future Nostalgia (2015), Changing Colours (2018), and Outta Sight (2022).
Hailing from the Saskatchewan city of Saskatoon, the band features the talents of Ewan Currie (vocals, guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), Sam Corbett (drums), Shamus Currie (keyboard/trombone) and Rick Paquette (guitar). From Canadian roadhouses to global music festivals, their on-stage and on-road hours are countless, underscoring their endurance in the music scene. The release of Future Nostalgia and Changing Colours further enriched their discography, leading up to the 2022 release of the jubilant hook-filled Outta Sight, solidifying their impact in the rock domain.
Most recently, their singles from Outta Sight spent a cumulative 90 weeks with at least 1 song in the top 20 at Canadian Rock radio. Prior, their hit singles “I Don’t Know” and “Feeling Good” both reached Platinum certification, with “The Way It Is” achieving Gold sales. Additionally, the albums Learn & Burn and The Sheepdogs both achieved Platinum status, and to date the band has been nominated for 11 JUNO awards, winning four.
