THE DREAM SYNDICATE
MEDICINE SHOW: I KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE (DELUXE EDITION)
DOWN THERE/FIRE RECORDS

Whatever the reason was that The Dream Syndicate didn’t become one of the biggest bands around at their 80s prime it is a damn shame, (and the 2022 documentary The Dream Syndicate: How Did We Find Ourselves Here? just might give some clues) because they were creating (and still do) some of the best neo-psychedelia new wav rock combo around, both on (some of) their albums and live.
And that some of particularly refers to their first two offerings – The Days of Wine and Roses and Medicine Show. And after quite a while, one of these – Medicine Show, gets a remastered deluxe edition that it deserves. – a humongous 42-song 4-CD box featuring 29 unreleased recordings from that 1983-84 era. Along with the original album, there is a pile of unreleased studio tracks, as well as practically three full CDs of live tracks, and The Dream Syndicate were of the hottest live acts of the 80s, as these recordings show.
The album itself firmly holds to its excellence and whether The Dream Syndicate still got it live could be checked on their upcoming tour of North America and Europe.
