LUCKY SEEDER – “HELLO AIRPLANE”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
Hamilton, Ontario trio Lucky Seeder introduce “Hello Airplane,” the first single from their forthcoming debut album, All Sorts Will Fit. Featuring songwriter and lead vocalist Alan Flint on acoustic guitar, Jason Colavecchia on six-string fretless bass, and Dave Carrillo on drums, the band brings together melodic songwriting, improvisational instincts and the energy of three musicians playing together.
Created by Flint, who is also a visual artist, the accompanying video treats archival film and video as found material, moving through fragments of prehistoric fantasy, early aviation, computing and home-video culture. Rather than illustrating the song literally, the images collide and recombine into a strange visual history of obsolete visions of the future.
“Hello Airplane” introduces Lucky Seeder as a band interested not only in songs, but in what can happen when music, image and unexpected ideas are allowed to meet.
ARTIST QUOTE
“We wanted the video to have the same freedom we try to leave in the music. The images don’t explain the song. They take it somewhere else.” ~Alan Flint, Lucky Seeder
