The Chemical Brothers
For That Beautiful Feeling
EMI Records

A tremendous synthesis of psychedelic electronica, The Chemical Brothers don’t miss a beat with the release of their 10th studio album, For That Beautiful Feeling. Pumping out hits since 1989, the dynamic genius of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons deliver heavenly tunes that transcend generations, instrumental in bridging the gap between electronica and popular mainstream, which cannot be ignored. For That Beautiful Feeling showcases the best of The Chemical Brothers with catchy and well-crafted tracks whilst remaining faithful to their style and fans.
“Intro” is fantastic; it hooks you immediately with a catchy melody. I wish it lasted longer; it leaves you wanting more. “Skipping Like a Stone” featuring Beck is incredible. This is an obvious fan favourite projecting an upbeat message to remain optimistic in adversity. “For That Beautiful Feeling”, featuring Halo Maud, slowly builds into an empowering crescendo, and as quickly as it builds, it peters out to almost nothing, then deafening silence – phenomenal.
If you are searching for that typical synthetic beat unique to The Chemical Brothers, you will find it in “Feels Like I Am Dreaming”, which captures that chemical essence, a standout for me. You will feel this song’s rhythm in your core. It builds to a climax of intense sound, with a fusion of thick drum and base, leaving you breathless. You’ll experience a terrifying twist that is unnerving – but it’s over quickly.
This is a unique album, an unforgettable dream, and a remarkable piece of work.
