Album Review: Dropkick Murphys – Signed and Sealed in Blood

Dropkick Murphys
Signed and Sealed in Blood
Born & Bred Records
RATING

Signed and Sealed in Blood is the Dropkick Murphys newest album – and possibly their best yet – showcasing their versatility in sound and undeniable talent. This is their eighth studio album and it is full of so much heart and passion by the band. The first track on the album, “The Boys are Back,” gives a sports-like, upbeat chant and a great foot stomping beat which fans love. A younger Dropkick Murphys is embodied on this track. This album’s release is sincerely great timing for the National Hockey League lockout resolution. “Rose Tattoo,” is another track that stands out on the record; it’s an instant favourite, with a more romantic and pride driven mood. “End of the Night” has this perfect ‘last call’ at the bar sound and the lyrics fit too. The song titles are incorporated in the album artwork and make this album come together as a whole. Overall, the album is a great listen with a positive and energetic mood that carries the story of a night out, from the beginning of the night to the end.
