UNCLE STRUT
HOME AT LAST
SPACEY GRACEY RECORDS

Uncle Strut is one of many up-and-coming bands from Vancouver to keep your eye on. They have gained a considerable fanbase in the past few years with their terrific indie pop/indie rock tunes with intoxicatingly dreamy melodies and riveting instrumentation. Their debut album, Home At Last, is phenomenal and filled with tons of bangers.
“Natalie” is an endearingly sweet little indie pop tune that will warm your heart with its joyful chorus, upbeat sound, and captivating lyrics. Fans of Peach Pit will adore this track. “7:30” (featuring Eva Lucia) is another standout song. Lyrically, it is the strongest on the record. It is beautifully authentic and full of raw emotion. Lucia also provides some remarkable vocals on this track and really heightens the mood of the track.
“Scarlett” is a delightfully entertaining tune and sees Uncle Strut show off their range as they take things in a more reggae and ska direction. The guitar riffs drip with punchy, exhilarating style, and the guitar solo is crazy good. Meanwhile, the fast, kinetic rhythm, commanding vocal performance, and funky bass lines really spice things up. It is safe to assume that “Scarlett” will be an instant fan favourite at live shows.
“Waiting For You” is as catchy as they come, with an earworm of a chorus. This album has many incredible choruses, but “Waiting For You” is outrageously good and shines above them all. Additionally, the bright instrumentation, infectious vocals, soothing melodies, and laid-back vibes of “Waiting For You” make it such a blast to listen to time and time again.
“Home At Last” is a sublime combination of surf rock and indie pop. Highlights include the groovy bass lines, an absolutely mesmerizing guitar solo that will blow you away, and charming vocals. It also incorporates some neat samples/dialogue into the mix as well.
Overall, if you want a record to jam out to, then Uncle Strut’s Home At Last is the record for you.
