MUSIC THAT HUMANS CAN PLAY
STOMP RECORDS

If you grew up listening to Billy Idol, The Cars, Duran Duran, Devo, Gary Numan, David Bowie, new wave, or synth-pop, then Music That Humans Can Play is the record for you. The latest release by Autogramm is always entertaining and delivers catchy chorus after catchy chorus.
Music That Humans Can Play is an 80s throwback album full of non-stop fun and captivating tracks bound to make you dance. The punchy guitars, groovy dance-rock bass line (that is very reminiscent of Billy Idol), catchy and amusing lyrics, and energetic vocal performances of “Plastic Punks” are a pure delight that will have fans shouting and jumping with glee. “Why Do We Dance” is the perfect anthem for dancing. The instrumentation is spectacular, with the highlights being the dark, mysterious, sci-fi-sounding synths that open up the track and the short punk-inspired guitar solo that gets better and better on every listen. The song feels like if “Whip It” by Devo was punkier and had a harsher sound. “Born Losers” and “Hey Allie” are two of the best new wave songs of late, with the latter also being the best track on the record. Both tracks have infectious choruses and exciting and highly memorable synths, and are full of nostalgia. Fans of The Cars will really enjoy “Born Losers” as it has a similar style. With “WannaBe”, they create an 80s-inspired tune with a bit of a modern twist. The vocals and instrumentation on this track are wicked too.
If this record came out in the 80s, it is safe to assume tons of tracks would have been featured in a coming-of-age film. It is easy to imagine “Yesterday” playing in the background during a school dance and “Love Is For Fools” playing during the opening credits of a movie.
Overall, Music That Humans Can Play is a must-listen for those who love the era of new wave and synth-pop.
