A. LEE EDWARDS
INTERPRETING HEART SOUNDS VOL. II
YOU KNOW WHAT…? RECORDS

When you are a true songwriter (in both heart and mind) it is something, any discerning listener can hear instantly. It says that Interpreting Heart Sounds Vol. II is A. Lee Edwards’ ‘only’ second solo album (Vol.1 being the first), but it is not only that grey beard on the album cover that is a giveaway, nor is the fact that for a while Edwards was part of Lou Ford and The Loudermilks; it is this seasoned, weathered songwriting and particularly excellent knack for storytelling that actually gives it away here.
You can hear it and sense it through every chord and word of the lyrics coupled with both Edwards’ mellow delivery and the crew he is surrounded with here, including quite a legendary producer that is John Wood (Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, John Cale, Richard and Linda Thompson), and with such a combination it was not hard to expect some excellent results we get throughout this album.
