SAVAGES RELEASE NEW SONG βADOREβ
US HEADLINING TOUR IN MARCH & APRIL INCLUDES JUST-ANNOUNCED COACHELLA
NEW ALBUM ADORE LIFE OUT JANUARY 22 ON MATADOR RECORDS
With Adore Life, one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2016, set for release on January 22nd, Savages today release their stunning new track βAdore.β Marrying Jehnny Bethβs commanding vocals and evocative facial expressions with intimate close-ups of the band, oscillating rhythms, and surging guitars, the affecting ballad is inspired by the American poet Minnie Bruce Pratt. Watch the haunting video directed by Anders Malmberg (Mew, MΓΈ) with lighting and concept design by Tobias Rylander (The xx, Lykke Li, FKA Twigs).
To mark the release of their sophomore album, the quartet will embark on a massive 2016 world tour, kicking off in Europe before bringing their brutally spellbinding live show to major US markets in March and April, including a just-announced Coachella booking.
Savagesβ second album, Adore Life, was recorded at RAK Studios, London in April 2015.Β Johnny Hostile was the producer and Richard Woodcraft the engineer. Anders TrentemΓΈller took care of the mixing in Copenhagen.
All songs were written and played by Savages β AyΕe Hassan (bass), Fay Milton (drums), Gemma Thompson (guitar), Jehnny Beth (vocals).Β Lyrics by Jehnny Beth.
“Itβs about change and the power to change. Itβs about metamorphosis and evolution. Itβs about sticking to your guns and toughing it out. Itβs about now, not tomorrow. Itβs about recognizing your potential. Itβs about self-doubt and inaction. Itβs about you. Itβs about me. Itβs about you and me and the others. Itβs about the choices we make. Itβs about finding the poetry and avoiding the clichΓ©. Itβs about being the solution, not the problem. Itβs about showing weakness to be strong. Itβs about digging through your dirt to look for diamonds. It’s about claiming your right to think unacceptable thoughts. Itβs about boredom and the things we do to drive it away. Itβs about being on your own so you can be with people. Itβs about knowing what it means to be human and what it might mean one day. Itβs about the parts and the sum of the parts. It’s about the music and the message: together, one and the same. Itβs about bass, guitars, drums, and vocals. Itβs about opening-out and never, ever dying. But most of all itβs about love, every kind of love. Love is the answer.”
