KILLING KIND – BEING HUMAN
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE ALBUM PREMIERE
Cold, dark Scandinavia has always been fertile ground for equally dark and mysterious music. Swedish band Killing Kind returns with their second album, Being Human — a heavier and darker follow-up to their 2023 debut. Blending post-punk, synth pop, and goth, the album combines strong melodies with an urgent reflection on the uncertain times we are living in.
Across eleven tracks, Being Human offers incantations and chants for a dying world, where humanity keeps trying to extinguish great fires with gasoline. The lyrics draw on classic sci-fi and horror themes to capture a sense of global trauma.
Fans of The Cure, Depeche Mode, and David Bowie will find familiar echoes in Killing Kind’s music, but also discover a distinctive voice with its own DNA. Their self-titled debut was warmly received, with the single “This Beautiful World” reaching radio listeners worldwide. The first single from Being Human, “Desperately Holding On “(released summer 2025), has already followed a similar path. With the new album, the band hopes to connect even more broadly — and the songs deserve nothing less.
The album has always received some very positive reviews stating that Being Human is “a perfect, lingering close to a masterful record”, and that you should “mark your calendars for October 31 because that’s when Being Human drops, and it just might change music forever
