USELESS ID – “STOPWATCH (LIVE IN TEL AVIV)”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
“Live In Tel Aviv is a recording from our 25th anniversary tour in our hometown of Israel, where we normally celebrate the milestones of the band with a special show,” explains vocalist/bassist and central songwriter Yotam Ben Horin. “Though we had no idea it would be at the time, it was our last show in Israel before lockdown. We were at the top of our game, so I really felt we caught some lightning in a bottle with the recording.” “The band always works towards a tight live show,” adds guitarist Ishay Berger, commenting on the raging fire that Live in Tel Aviv so effectively documents. “We take the studio experience and try to recreate the passion and energy of the albums when we hit the stage, and on that night we were kind of at our best.“Mixed by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room and hand pressed to vinyl at Burlington Record Plant in Burlington, Vermont, the supercharged 28-song set is nothing short of blistering, showcasing the Israeli quartet in their finest hour.
Artist Quote
“Stopwatch” captures the band’s energy as we just hit the stage, and everything is fresh before we actually settle in a few songs later. It captures the chaotic feeling like it’s all about to collapse at any given moment, but something is holding it together. This coincides with the feeling I got from living in Israel for many years. The conflict is ongoing and somehow Israel continues to exist amidst the wars and religious traits. When playing live, it’s like a rollercoaster and you don’t know what’s going to happen at any given moment especially with a hometown crowd. I know that I get a bit nervous moments before going on stage in Israel but that’s always a good sign.
