Initially written for the #MeTooMPLS compilation record, “On The Shoulders Of Giants” serves to spotlight the sisterhood that has allowed today’s women and girls to speak out. For generations, women have relentlessly challenged the status quo, and have persevered in the face of injustice and inequality. This song honors the struggle and persistence of these women, past and present, and inspires hope as we all continue to build on each other’s progress.
There is strength and an enduring value in holding each other up, encouraging one another to keep working, and in being a sanctuary for one another when it’s time to rest. All progress is due to the generations of women that came before, and what’s done today is consequential for the generations to come.
The title track, “On The Shoulders Of Giants”, is the first single from Elska’s debut album, which is set to be released on March 26th, 2021.
