BUILDINGS AND FOOD – “COASTING”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
Canadian electronic recording artist and music producer Jen K. Wilson, aka Buildings and Food has announced the release of the official music video for “Coasting” from the artist’s fourth album, Echo the Field, released on May 10, 2024.
The track is a slow-burning downtempo electronic piece, RIYL Boards of Canada, Sam Prekop or Aphex Twin. Animating a slow, easy walking pace, the minimalist, glitchy video accompanies a meditative journey through the pulse of warm synths that anchor the music and set a hypnotic rhythm. An invitation to slow down and simply exist, Coasting is calm and dreamy and inspires mindfulness, focus and introspection.
The album, Echo the Field is a meditative work comprised of ambient and downtempo instrumental tracks. Inspired by recent trips to the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts, the album is both grounding and ethereal, and seems to be a reflection on the beauty and timelessness of the desert landscape as well as an expression of the artist’s hopefulness and sense of belonging in nature.
Echo the Field is now available to stream worldwide and is available for purchase on Bandcamp: https://buildingsandfood.bandcamp.com
ARTIST QUOTE
“Coasting is a meditative low-key electronic track, inspired by time spent in the desert, where I found peace within the landscape. The whole album really is a reflection of that landscape. Those wide open spaces and sparseness inspired me to make this album.” ~Jen K. Wilson
