Watering Hole is the brainchild of Paper Bag Records social media manager, Peyton Mott who single handedly A&R’d all the artists and brought this idea to fruition. Peyton is constantly in local venues, attending shows and is a professional music photographer and videographer. “Working in collaboration with the five bands on this lineup to create a mixtape of 10 original songs, Watering Hole is my love letter to Toronto from Toronto.”
Paper Bag releases a diverse roster of music from all across the country, and is always keeping a very keen eye on the Toronto music scene where the label has been based since its inception in 2002.
mishi: From Scarborough making alt-rock songs for anyone who misses the sting of LimeWire viruses, the chaos of curating their MySpace Top 8, and the blurry flash of digicam lunch breaks. Her debut EP 111 Spruce St, created in collaboration with Jaiden Davis-Jones and Matthew Tomasi, helped shape her sound, pairing gritty textures with the emotional charm of GarageBand bedroom demos. Previously released Pt.1 track “720” traces the lingering shadows of trauma and survival, unpacking the emotional aftermath of violence, guilt and fractured family dynamics. It explores the tension between past wounds and present identity.
CONNIE: is a post-punk band hailing from Toronto, bringing a lighthearted sensibility to expressive anthems. The band is an unapologetic amalgamation of influences, delivered with raw energy and precision. CONNIE consists of Cameron Carolan (vocals, guitar), Ethan “Church” Reid (vocals, bass), Calum McLean (guitar), and Conor Freeborn (drums). Following the release of their debut, NOVEMBER HOPEFULLY, CONNIE return with two new singles “Adriana” and “MAGAZINE” both via Paper Bag Records.
Vacant Space: is an alternative rock band from Mississauga blending raw emotion, dynamic instrumentation, and a DIY spirit. Rooted in friendship and community, they create inclusive spaces through sound. With international festival experience and a debut album on the way, they’re carving space for everyone in music.
