EXISTENTIAL INDUSTRIAL GLAM MAVERICK PIG ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN HURT PEOPLE TOUR
NEW ALBUM HURT PEOPLE HURT OUT NOW ON METROPOLIS RECORDS
Having recently announced that PIG will be performing in Chicago, Los Angeles and Austin in mid-September as part of the Cold Waves XIV festival, existential industrial glam maverick Raymond Watts and his band have now revealed a fall tour of North American tour to promote Hurt People Hurt, their just released new album on Metropolis Records.
The Hurt People Tour will commence in Lawrence, Kansas on 27th August and conclude in Detroit, Michigan on 18th October, comprising of 44 shows in all that include the Cold Waves dates. An initial 40 date itinerary is listed HERE, with further shows to be added.
Hurt People Hurt has been receiving some of the best reviews of Watts’ career globally, while in the US he was recently described as “the missing link between David Bowie, Gary Numan and Trent Reznor” by Bearded Gentlemen Music.
Much of the album is co-written by Watts with his chief songwriting partner in swine Jim Davies (ex-Prodigy and Pitchshifter), with Tinnitist stating that their work is “danceable and deadly serious in turn. PIG climbs peaks and mines troughs, while musical genres slide and collide like tectonic plates.”
Two singles were issued ahead of the album. The first, “Tosca’s Kiss’” VIDEO, was inspired by Watts’ well-known love of opera, while Watts has previously stated that “Sex & Suicide” LYRIC VIDEO is a song of pain, pleasure, obsession and possession for the departed, the broken-hearted and the newly started.
Ahead of the North American tour, PIG will play two previously announced sold out shows in Tokyo on 25th and 26th June, with UK dates to follow in December.
